Impressionists' Trail

Follow one of the Impressionists’ Trail paths and discover the landscapes painted by Claude Monet, Auguste Renoir, Camille Pissarro and Alfred Sisley.  From the second half of the 19th century, the tranquillity found in this area of the River Seine to the west of Paris, made more accessible by the railway, attracted many artists.  Their work shows the rich character of the surrounding nature, everyday village life, the activities of the river, and one of the latest popular pastimes, boating!

A number of reproductions of Impressionist and Fauve paintings, placed in the very spot where the painters would have set up their easels, allow you to appreciate the landscapes as they are now with an eye on the colours of the past.
