Parks and open spaces
Take a breath of fresh air! The region’s towns are hidden behind little havens of greenery, offering the visitor endless opportunities to take a break from the day’s activities and appreciate a bit of nature in the middle of town.
Situated on higher ground, the woods are an ideal place to spend time relaxing with the family, following the fitness trail, or using the children’s playground.
Park and Ile Corbière:
Located on the river bank in Le Pecq, the park has children’s play areas, a pet farm, picnic areas, a bandstand where concerts are held in the summer months, and an educational vegetable garden.
Situated just opposite is the Ile Corbière. Measuring 500m by 120m, it is uninhabited and entirely wooded. Information boards at the site describe the area’s history, and how these stretches of the riverbank were used in the 1930s. Another lesser-known fact is that, before the First World War, Le Pecq was an important hydro-aviation centre. A date of particular importance is 24th August 1913, when 50,000 spectators came to the banks of the
Parc des Impressionnistes:
Covering an area of over 7 hectares, this park connects Ile de Chatou and Ile de Croissy, and is renown for the “Foire à la brocante et au jambon” (ham and antiques fair), held each year in March and September. It has children’s play areas and a fitness trail, so there’s something for everyone!
